Semarak Ekonomi ‘Amor UMY’, Beginning of Student Entrepreneurial Spirit

YOGYA, KRJOGJA.com – Semarak Ekonomi or Gebyar Ekonomi organized by the Metamorphosis Committee of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (FEB UMY). The event took place along the road starting from the front of the Engineering Building to the Building of the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) of UMY on Sunday (09/15/2019).
Semarak Ekonomi is the final set of 2019 Metamorphosis which is the Ta’aruf (Mataf) Period or commonly known as new student orientation. semaraka Ekonomi this year has been held for the third time. The closure of the FEB or economic event was held to coincide with the opening of Sunday Morning (Amor) UMY.
Amor was founded starting with the Youthpreneur Community at FEB which has the slogan ‘Stop Manja, Mari Usaha’. In this community has a regular program every week, Sunday Morning, better known as Amor.
“Activities in Amor every month include colouring competitions, photography competitions from UKM, live music, and healthy gymnastics,” said Najah Alfi as Chairman of Amor 2019-2020.
The expectation from the Amor committee is of course how they can benefit more broadly, especially for traders to be more prosperous and their merchandise can be sold in the market and develop.
“We hope that the tenants will not only open small street vendors but also grow bigger by being able to open fixed outlets. So that the traders are happy, the visitors are happy, “explained Najah.
As said in his remarks, Isa Anshari as Governor of BEM FEB would like to thank the Chairman of the Youthpreneur and his staff who have coordinated, developing one of the communities on the UMY campus. Especially for economics students, certainly spearheading the economic growth in the UMY campus.
“This is part of FEB’s efforts to give birth to successful young Indonesian entrepreneurs,” said Rizal Yaya as the Dean of FEB in his remarks.
Rizal also told his students to develop a business, and make this event a place to market, test products, and to train themselves to be reliable entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs.
The series of activities held at the Glorious Economy this time included a healthy walk around the campus, an art performance filled by FEB New Students from 08.00-14.00 WIB. After that, it was followed by external performances from new students, namely Diorama, IMM Arts Sector. Then when closing the Color Run event was held.
“Since we are the Faculty of Economics and Business, we provide an agenda to induce new students in entrepreneurship, this is Sunday Morning,” said Khalid Maulana as Chairperson of Metamorphosis 2019 to Krjogja.com on Sunday Morning UMY.
Ema Cahya, a trader from Amor, said that she had been selling at the beginning of Sunday Morning. He always sells cactus plants and pants produced by his products.
“Alhamdulillah, during selling here, there are many enthusiasts, even if they are just asking questions and buying. The hope is that it can be known to all people like Sunmor and then more advanced, more people are selling, and more people are visiting, “he added.
Dwi Ayu, as a visitor to Amor, was none other than a UMY student herself saying that the presence of Amor made her feel proud.
“With the existence of UMY, Amor has made it easy for students not to go far to Sunmor because they can be culinary on their campus. And the outside community can enjoy creations from UMY. On the other hand, this is one of the bases for introducing UMY to the wider community, “Ayu explained when met at the Amor location.
