Opening of Metamorfosis 2019

Ta’aruf Period Muhammadiyah University Yogyakarta (MATAF UMY) is an annual event of UMY as a form of initial orientation for new students of UMY. In 2019, MATAF UMY was held on Monday (8/26) to Wednesday (8/28).

METAMORFOSIS (Monumental Ta’aruf Moment Presented by the Faculty of Economics and Business) is an introductory event (ta’aruf) for new students within the Faculty of Economics and Business, Muhamamdiyah University, Yogyakarta (FEB UMY). The opening of METAMORFOSIS on Tuesday (8/27) at the UMY Sportorium raised the theme “Young Work for a Beloved Indonesia”. The event which was attended by nearly 1000 New Students of 2019 was opened by the Dean of FEB UMY, Rizal Yaya., M.Sc., Ph.D., Ak., CA. and was attended by all ranks of Faculty and Program Study leaders in the scope of FEB UMY.
In his remarks, the Dean of FEB conveyed the 4 pillars of excellence of UMY’s FEB namely Islam, entrepreneurship, technological experience, and internationalization. The FEB Dean hopes that new students will learn seriously and discipline not only in the academic or lecture environment but also outside academics by joining student organizations on campus. Furthermore, the Dean of FEB also asked new students to continue the tradition of achievement from previous students for the advancement and excellence of FEB-UMY and themselves.

The purpose of METAMORFOSIS is to guide new-generation Z students or Millennial generation to create a work that can boast of Indonesia on the world stage.
With the theme that contains the diction “Young”, is a word that represents and refers to the new students themselves and the sentence “Work” is intended that new FEB-UMY students can be creative and innovative and can produce something new, while the sentence “Indonesia beloved “here new students must understand the extent of their love for Indonesia to spur the spirit of working to build the nation.
METAMORFOSIS takes the icon of Bali Starling with wings embracing the globe that shows the work of young people who can influence the world
