USIM Visitation to IPAcc UMY

International Program of Accounting Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IPACC UMY) had a visitation from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Tuesday (22/8) in Amphitheater, Post-Graduate Campus, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Both universities discussed about Accounting Study Program students’ exchange that has been offered by USIM since the last year. 27 students and 2 supervisor lecturers from USIM joined the visitation. Public lecture, focus group discussion, and monsoon (computer training) also the activities done in the visitation.

dr. Nurhidayah Laila, one of the lecturer from USIM, said that the visitation is one of the program of USIM to introduce other cultures to its students. “It is our program to introduce other countries’ culture to the students. It is hoped that all students can know the development happen in the real life situation and learn new things, especially in the matter of Indonesia Islamic and Conventional Accounting. USIM already had a visitation to another countries beside Indonesia, such as Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, and The United States of America. We also have industrial visitation to some countries.” she said.

Nurhidayah also revealed the reason of why UMY is chosen as USIM visitation to Indonesia. According to her, UMY and USIM both learning about Islamic and Conventional Accounting and already have a cooperation since long time ago as they have been doing students exchange all this time. Nurhidayah also hoped that this agenda can increase the students exchange cooperation with another study program, so both universities education service can be improved.

Meanwhile, The Head of Committee, Zico Septian Amar, stated that all participants are enthusiastic to go through the visitation agenda. He hoped that from this agenda, students exchange program can be increased and students who joined the program can achieved double degree.  After USIM visitation, IPAcc UMY planned to have response visitation to USIM in 2018.
